Imagine a World Without Fear

Imagine a World Without Fear

The prosperity that came with it didn’t eliminate fear, it only replaced it with a new kind. Prosperous people still had to fear other people, but now there were more rules to follow. These rules protected us and protected the poor. These rules tamed the beast in our minds, but they also condemned many unseen behaviors. For example, thieves, greed, and cheating were illegal, but we don’t let that stop us.

The author of the book, Max Lucado, gives us a glimpse of what it would be like to live a life free from fear. His book, Fearless, offers hope in the face of a fear-filled world, and it combines the best aspects of the popular Christian philosophy with the teachings of Jesus. Fear-based behavior is a symptom of a deeper problem, and we need to work to eliminate it.

If fear were not such an elusive goal, we’d pray differently, minister to the sick, and pursue our dreams with more confidence. We’d be more willing to pursue relationships with people who seem impossible, and we’d be more confident sharing our faith with others. We’d pursue our career dreams in different ways. If fear were not so crippling, we would all pursue our passions. In other words, we’d pursue our dreams and be happy and contented.
