The Meaning of Life

Humans are creatures of the same instinct for survival, a need to eat, drink, sleep, and procreate. These fundamental needs are essential to the continuation of the human race. In our modern world, however, there is no inherent meaning to our existence. We live a mundane life, with our only purpose being to make food and drink, procreate, and rest. But some people try to create meaning in their lives.

The Meaning of Life

The meaning of life depends on individual beliefs, and it varies from person to person. Getting what you want and doing things that are important to you are common examples of meaningful actions. However, according to one influential subjectivist, the relevant mental state is “caring and loving”. This mental state is often associated with a sense of well-being. In order to find meaning in life, it is important to think outside the box and examine different viewpoints.

In the case of religious perspectives, meaning is explained in terms of an inherent purpose, not defined by humans. In this case, humans are not the source of our existence, but rather the cause of it. While it is true that we can’t choose the purpose of our existence, we can choose how we choose to interpret that purpose. For instance, we may find it comforting to think that our lives are meaningful, and we should do what we can to improve the quality of our lives. But we shouldn’t stop there. There’s much more to life than we think.
