Why Do People Experience Fear?
Why Do People Experience Fear?
If you have ever sat yourself down and asked yourself the question of why humans experience fear then I can safely say that you are not alone in your quest. It is a question that has plagued man for as long as he has been on this earth and will continue to torment him into the future. The truth of the matter however is that fear is a completely natural phenomenon and is shared by all of the great animals on the planet.
The reason that most people do not understand or appreciate the power of fear is due to the fact that for as long as they have been walking the earth, they have been fighting off predators, protecting their families and trying to survive. Today, many people still practice this same defense mechanism and it serves them very well. For instance, many people will stand in a queue if they are told to stand in the back because they are guaranteed to arrive at the front in a timely fashion. They will also stay seated where they are told to sit rather than trying to speed their way through to the front. This is all due to the simple fact that for as long as they have been on this planet, humans have always looked out for themselves and for their family and have come to realize that if they let go of their fear, they will be let go too.
As a side note, fear also serves to motivate us to fight for what we believe in. It is this drive that will push us to go and fight for our freedoms, for our rights and for the things that we believe in. Why humans fight so hard for these causes is because without this drive, we would have nothing to stand up for and the results could be disastrous. This is the same concept that motivates terrorists to use deadly force against innocent lives when they could have easily been deterred with a little persuasion.
