What Will the Singularity Feel Like?

What will the Singularity Feel like? The future is here. I’m not talking about a Google Earth image of the future but I am talking about the future felt by all of us on this planet right now, living in our present period. What will the Singularity feel like? I suppose that depends upon what you personally feel about the future. If you feel that we are moving away from the individual and toward collectivism and a big government then what will the Singularity feel like?

Perhaps it is a state of bliss. Maybe it’s boredom. It really doesn’t matter because one thing is for certain: the future will bring nothing of note. But there is a very interesting book by Jaron Lanier called “The Gathering.” In this book he discusses what he calls the Singularity, the merging of human consciousness into a single unit and explains how that will affect us.

If you are a Singleton (as I think we all should be if we can manage it) then I recommend that you get your copy of the Singularity eBook. It is a very interesting book. If you have not yet read it, please do so. In the mean time, I will suggest that you go online and read the book. You will be able to get a good idea of what will the Singularity feel like.
