Why Do People Experience Fear in Everyday Life?

Why do some people have fear, while others have no fear at all? The answer to that question lies in how the mind and body perceive fear. Fear can be a strong motivating force for good change. Fear is also often described as one of our strongest motivators, and an important driving force of healing.

If fear is so powerful, then, like so many others, you may have experienced fear at some point in your life. Some of us may have had recurring fearful experiences as children. If we continue to experience fear up until adulthood, that’s called “child fear.” For others, fear may be more recent, maybe resulting from a traumatic event. In any case, when humans experience fear, they often feel threatened by that fear and that threat, in turn can cause a powerful desire to change.

If fear has become a consistent experience, it may have been difficult for you to let go of that fear, but it may have been possible if you changed your perceptions about that fear. Perhaps you decided that the way you thought about fear was incorrect, or you decided that fear was based in fact, rather than emotion. Whatever the case may be, these methods can be very effective in changing your perception of fear and in producing the changes you’re looking for.
