How to Imagine a World Without Fear (A Book Review)

When Thich Nhat Hanh is translated into English, the author’s name becomes Imagine a World Without Fear. The author presents a philosophical view of how war can be fought in a just and moral way with the use of imagination. This text is a remarkable work of writing and its message stands for peace. It is very simple and one of the most profound books on earth. In fact, it is one book I have read that really made me think about life and what value we all have here on Earth.

The premise of the book is that if we do not stop bearing witness to and unleashing the iniquities of the powerful few, then in the future, there will be no peace. We will live in fear and this fear will tear down our civilization and cause another horrific war. We must stop bearing witness to crimes against humanity. We have to look deep within ourselves and find the answers to our questions. We must arm ourselves with the tools necessary to make ourselves safe and strong so that we can go forward and create a better world for our children.

In essence, we are working towards creating a better world for our children because we are scared of the world that we live in right now. Many of us are afraid of the change that is coming to our world and what it will mean to our children. We have become so used to living in a society and world that are based around the need to have security and constant fear that it has affected us all. Thich Nhat Hanh is a reminder that we have to look deeper within ourselves and stop making it a game or a reality TV show; we have to find our courage and take a stand.
