Why People Love Music

Can you imagine life without music? I can’t, and neither can you. Music is the language of the heart, the language of passion, the language of happiness, the language of love. The first law of thermodynamics tells us that energy goes where it is wanted and to where it has been wanted; music helps to provide the emotional boost that we need in order to be fully alive. The second law of thermodynamics tells us that heat goes where it is wanted and to where it has been wanted; music helps to provide the emotional boost that we need in order to be fully alive.

In fact, all living things, plants and animals, contain the “feel-good” chemicals within their brains, and we as humans are basically designed to respond to those “feel-good” chemicals and produce a happy response. So, if you ever get stuck in traffic on the way to work or feel like your day has been so uneventful lately, listen to some music. You might just find that a happy thought comes upon you like a bolt of lightening, and before you know it, you’re driving home in the back seat with a smile on your face.

This discovery of human nature is why people from all cultures across the globe love music, and why they live such long, happy lives. Listen to any kind of music for any length of time, and you’ll begin to realize why music is such a powerful tool for making the world a better place. In fact, if you’re a parent and have children, you already know this yourself. Music can inspire, motivate, make people feel good, spread happiness, and even help you get through some rough times. So, whether you’re listening to music at home on your iPod, at work playing it over your work computer, at a party singing along with your friends, or in a church when everyone participates in musical worship, keep in mind the incredible power that music has for each of us.
